Introducing WinPlus...

Add speed and flexibility to all prompting applications.WinPlus Screen Shot

+WinPlus+ is a Windows-based software package which adds the ease of "point and click" to an intuitive on-screen edit display. The system interfaces with all major electronic newsrooms to add resilience to existing facilities. It can also provide stand-alone prompting for Presentation and General Production both in the studio and on location. Features include a fully active run order which can be manipulated at any time during scrolling as well as instant prompt editing.

+WinPlus+ operates with all languages and fonts available in Truetype and Adobe. Virtually any mix of typefaces and sizes can be selected for both the edit screen and the prompt output.

+WinPlus+ is available in versions to specifically meet any language requirements. Different languages have different requirements and we have produced versions to address any localisation that is required for a given language. Languages we support and have shipped include:

The Edit Window

Script This is where you create, examine or edit the prompted text. All the usual word processing features are present. Prompter and edit window fonts can be easily selected using the drop-down menu. Bold, italic, underline and inverse font styles are instantly available from the toolbar.

The Run Order Window

Run Order Run Order functions are displayed and manipulated here. Stories can be moved around in the run order list by simply dragging them. Any change to the run order sequence is immediately reflected in both the prompted text and on the edit window.

Bookmarks

Bookmark Any number of Bookmarks may be added to the script. These are used to allow any part of the script to be returned to quickly. Bookmarks do not show up on the prompted text or in any print-outs of the script so they may be used freely as required. Bookmarks are especially useful in conference work where a runorder may not be in use.

Prompt Preview

Prompt Preview This window provides a display which tracks the prompter output. A feature of this display is the ability to click on it to establish an edit point. When this is done, the edit point is positioned in the correct position on the script to make any changes to the text. Any changes will be seen immediately on the prompter display.

Timing

Timing Window This display shows the timing of individual stories in the run order as well 'real' time from the built-in timer. The display also shows overall timing together with twin bargraph displays allowing comparison between prompted text and timer durations. Non-prompted parts of the programme are taken into account using embedded character sequences.

On-screen Scroll Control

Scroll Control The WinPlus prompting system is supplied with a very efficient desktop control which provides a very smooth and comfortable scroll speed control for the operator. Should an accident occur such as someone standing on the cable just as the show is about to go on air, it is useful to have a backup. This on-screen scroll control serves this purpose. Normally it can be hidden away out of view, but it can be brought into service whenever the need arises. As well as the sliding prompt speed control, there are buttons for next/previous stories, top of script, stop and pause. The sense of the slider may also be reversed and the cue-marker position can be changed.

Configuration Settings

Configuration Screen
The WinPlus prompter is used in many different ways and an extensive set of configuration settings are provided. These screens are accessible through this tabbed multi-page display where they are organised into logical groups of settings.

PCIPrompt Card

+WinPlus+ is designed to work in conjunction with the high specification BDL PCIPrompt colour prompter card. Plugged directly into the PC motherboard PCI Bus, the system provides two composite video, smooth-scrolling prompt outputs, a genlock option comes as standard.
